“SpeakEasy”
on Tuesday evening, October 16,
at 7 p.m. at FCMOCA.
SpeakEasy is an informal conversation about the art in the galleries. This time it’s “In This Life: Reflections on War and Politics.” Artists Kumiko McKee, Felipe Echevarria, and Miguel Tio have painted pictures in response to 9/11 and the war in Iraq. Each artist brings a different viewpoint from the anguish of warfare, to the paradox of horror and beauty, to a hopeful and spiritual interpretation of events.
Jennifer Davey will start the discussion and facilitate the dialogue between people who attend. Whether you like to talk or just listen, you’re bound to learn a lot from the insights of others. It’s a great experience whether you are a novice just beginning to enjoy looking at art, or an experienced museum patron.
Feel free to invite a friend…we hope you will attend!
