It would have to something really unique or spectacular.

Check out what going in Florida with Art Basel Miami Beach - the largest contemporary art fair in the hemisphere, bringing for the sixth year a whirlwind of international art collectors, respected curators, museum directors and some of the world's most distinguished artists and galleries...

Miami itself becomes a work of art: http://www.miamiherald.com/457/story/328615.html

I would suggest approaching the Downtown Business Association. They are the ones that coordinate the events in Old Town Square. Their contact info is 19 Old Town Square, Suite #230,
Phone: 970.484.6500. I too would like to see more of a focus on local artists at New West Fest or an entire festival devoted just to the wealth of local artists.

It would be fantastic to have an arts festival here. There are so many artists of all kinds in Fort Collins. It would be nice to have a way to showcase all of that...painting, sculpture, metalsmithing, pottery, fiber arts, etc. Please let me know how I can get involved. This might be one to look at for inspiration. http://www.artsfestival.net/artsfestival/ I always enjoyed going to that one both to view and buy art and jewelry and gifts. I agree with Bryan C....let's do it!

I was getting all excited as I read this, and was wondering why I had never heard of it. Then I got to the end and realized why I had never heard of it. How can we make it happen? I know for a fact that there are enough artists. I heard Ft Collins was the #7 city in the nation for artists to live! Who knows enough about permits and registrations and planning to make it happen? I'm a full-time artist so I will get involved in any way I can. Let's do it!
