Albert Einstein
There is a pretty well known quote from Albert Einstein: “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” These past couple weeks I’ve had some conversations with artists that make me wonder if they are going insane. They continue to manage their art business the same way they did in months past and wonder why they are not getting the same results.
Things have changed. The economy has everyone a little freaked out and wondering about the future. Many artists have been directly effected by the change in the economic weather. I’ve heard many a complaint about how the phone is not ringing and sales are drying up. But what I don’t see is artists adapting to meet the challenges of the economy.
What ever worked six months ago probably will not work today. I can’t tell you what changes you need to make. Each artist has their own unique economy to work in. Take a look at your business and evaluate everything from pricing, marketing, resources, and everything in between.
But what ever you do change. Adapt. Survive. And always live to create.
Don’t go insane!

I adore this photo of Einstein, one of my favs. I have a quote and a sketch of Einstein on my blog, I love him so! The quote is an insanity issue as well. At least in my own ponderings about that sort of thing I know I am in good company. Anyway, so true, your post about changing times. (Came across your blog via Trevor Lingard’s blog.) Best wishes for continued good things.
