The Portrait Model

Thursdays - 6:00 - 9:00pm
All levels, beginners welcome!
$200 + $35 model fee - or $40 single class drop in rate.
Competent drawing skills are critical for sucessfully creating a quality work of painted art, and a lack of drawing skill can keep a student’s painted work from becoming a masterpiece.
This intensive is designed to heighten both your drawing and painting skills so they may complement one another. This will allow every picture you make to be consistent and of high quality, no matter what style or subject you do. The creation process can then be more effortless and enjoyable. You will accelerate your ability to perceive and render the solidity of physical form in deep space, and correctly apply perspective to the picture elements. You will then combine the above with fine art techniques for rendering form and dealing with edges and values. Further practice includes defining personal vision and style, doing more with less, and adding to your arsenal of techniques for making drawings and paintings.
50% of the time will be drawing and 50% painting. You can paint in the media of your choice. Because this intensive is on a drop in basis, each student will receive helpful individual attention designed for their own level of skill. Most sessions will start with a brief lecture/demo by the instructor.
